In a community where rain is measured by tenths of an inch, (and sometimes by one hundredths) we were elated with two recent showers.
When my husband brought home this rain gauge,
I thought he’d lost his mind. It stands almost 3 feet tall! (The up-side is that I can read it from inside the house!) He must have been feeling pretty optimistic to buy it during a drought.
But, sure enough, the next day, the clouds opened up and poured out almost 3/4 of an inch.
And what a difference it makes…

And we even have tiny little apples on the trees!
Oh, I can taste that apple sauce already!
